Julia's 6th Birthday

For Julia's 6th birthday she wanted to do all the planning, and she started about 6 months ago. In her sounded out spelling, she wrote down her ideas of having a Hawaiian hula party at the beach. How can a mother resist when her daughter presents her with a 6 year old party plan for a hula beach party. It even had drawings of herself in a grass skirt on the beach to go along with it. She also had another picture of her cake which looked like a wedding/sand castle cake. Hence the sand castle cake - thank goodness for the patience of a loving grandma who helped make that dream possible.

Julia had also decided to put off having her party for a couple of weeks to wait for her Grandma Lewis and her aunts Lorraine, Sarah and uncle Brian to be there to celebrate with her. She also decided that instead of having a number of presents on her birthday she was going to wait to redeem some gift certificates to do fun things while the family was here. In the top picture it is Julia outside the Build-a-Bear store which she wanted to do with her aunts. We also redeemed a gift of going to Jamba Juice with the family. I think that she had a great and memorable time.
