I taught Joy School this week and we had a field trip on Thursday planned to the Fire Station in Mira Mesa. The firemen were obviously well versed on little kid field trips to the fire house because they were really organized about everything. First, they showed the kids a cartoon video about what to do in case of a fire. Then they got a brief tour of the fire house. After that they got a thorough description as to how the fire truck works. Then they saw a fireman dress up in his uniform. The kids even got to try on an official fireman hat. The best part was when the kids got to shoot the fire hose. There was even an ambulance at the fire station that they showed to the kids too. What little boy could ask for more? I was really fascinated too and it was even my second time being there.

oh... you seriously rock for pulling that field trip off! How fun for them and can you imagine how excited they must have been - I can imagine that there are a lot of little kids that want to be firemen now!
